Next to Normal

About:

Winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize in Drama and 3 Tony Awards, including Best Score, this contemporary and defiant pop/rock musical follows the story of Diana Goodman, a housewife with bipolar disorder, whose disease, treatment, and recovery threatens to tear her family apart. This production assesses the losses that occur when wounded people are anesthetized, not just by pharmaceutical and medical treatments as Diana is, but by recreational drugs, alcohol and denial with a smile. Next to Normal is a feel-everything show, which asks you, with operatic force, to discover the liberation in knowing where it hurts and believing that there will be light.

MHA Day

In partnership with The Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas (MHASCK), 15% of all Sunday ticket sales will go to the fantastic work that MHASCK is doing as our nation grapples with a post-pandemic mental health crisis. In addition, post-show talkbacks will be held after every Sunday performance with MHASCK mental health professionals and the Next to Normal cast/crew. Guests will be invited to stay after and ask any questions that they may have.

Donation Sharing will also take place between Crown Arts Collaborative, our 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre company, and MHASCK. Any donation that Crown Arts Collaborative receives between September 10th - October 3rd will be split 50/50 with The Mental Health Association.
