The Historic Dunbar Theatre is back! In celebration of Black History Month, this benefit concert will present black artists from all around Wichita. The mission of is to raise funds for the 501(c)(3) that is now housed within the newly renovated theatre to bring art and art education to an historically underserved Wichita neighborhood.

About the Dunbar:
The Dunbar theatre was built in 1941, at 1007 N. Cleveland Street in the McAdams neighborhood. It served, until 1963, as the only movie theater available to the African-American community in Wichita.

The Dunbar Theater holds a special place in the memories of many as a cornerstone of what was once the thriving commercial hub of Wichita's African-American community during the 1940s and 1950s.

The Dunbar is undergoing its transition to an arts center with a black box stage & gallery, with educational facilities and a bookstore.
